"Love is everything"

Not a traditional Q&A - a conversation, a mic passed around a room that had just watched the film together.

On what surprised her most:

"I think the biggest surprise is how - just that love is everything. She can't speak, and for years I just yearned for her to reach out her hands and say 'Mama' - which is such a normal thing for a child to do. But she gives love in such a different way. It's such a pure form of love - she speaks with her eyes and makes little sounds. You learn to appreciate love in many different shapes and forms. How deep love can really go, how much love she can really give, and how much you love her, despite it being tough. That's the biggest surprise of all."

On siblinghood:

"I was really grateful to see the older sister's love for her sister. And even though there was little coming back from her disabled sister, nonetheless, their love was so deep somehow. It's very, very inspiring."

On why this needs to be seen:

"There's so much, so much to it. I think it's a really underknown subject that we really need more visibility for."

On walking out:

"I came out with a sense of real joy. There's a hope, you know."
